In 1956, my grandfather, Michael Kelly Page Sr., arrived at Lackland AFB in Bexar County, Texas and flew in a Lockheed T-33. He would later become a member of the North Carolina Air National Guard and commercial airline pilot for Piedmont Airlines. To me, he was my Granddad, and when I received this footage he took of his adventures in the T-33, I knew I had to give it sound.
Inspired by Peter Jackson's They Shall Not Grow Old," I went deep into research and found recordings of an actual T-33. I tried my hardest to hold up this footage with a soundscape that would be accurate and faithful. Here are some breakdowns from my Reaper timeline.
